The upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" apparently has found some potential stars to be cast for a major role. According to a new report by Variety, Disney is now eyeing five young actresses to star alongside Johnny Depp in the flick depicting Captain Jack Sparrow's adventure.

Some sources said the company would test "Miss Potter" actress Lucy Boynton, "Endless Love" actress Gabriella Wilde, "The Returned" star Jenna Thiam, "The Maze Runner" star Kaya Scodelario and Alexandra Dowling of "The Musketeers" for the role over the next week. The character apparently will be the love interest to Brenton Thwaites' British soldier character, Henry.

Earlier this year, the movie reportedly was eyeing Javier Bardem to play a villain. His character apparently is "a ghost bent on revenge against Capt. Jack Sparrow, who he holds responsible for the murder of his brother." He is also "searching for a supernatural object to aid him."

Production is set to start early next year in Australia. Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg will serve behind the lens. Depp will reprise his role as the eccentric pirate while Geoffrey Rush is expected to return as Barbossa. The fantasy-action film will hit U.S. theaters on July 7, 2017.
