J.K. Rowling's First Harry Potter Holiday Surprise Reveals More About Snape
Movie

The newly-unveiled short story focuses on Cokeworth, a fictional town where Harry's mother Lily, his aunt Petunia and Severus Snape grew up.

AceShowbiz - J.K. Rowling's 12 days of holiday surprise kicked off Friday, December 12 with new material that focuses on Lily Potter and Severus Snape's hometown. The short story can be found on Pottermore.com by answering a riddle.

The short story details Cokeworth, "a fictional town in the English midlands where Harry spends a night at the Railview Hotel with his aunt, uncle and cousin Dudley." It's also the place where Harry's mother Lily Evans, his aunt Petunia, and Severus Snape grew up.

There, the old house of Snape's parents, Spinner's End, is located. The house is mentioned at the beginning of the sixth book "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" as the place where the Unbreakable Vow is performed.

"Cokeworth has a river running through it, evidence of at least one large factory in the long chimney overlooking Snape's house, and many small streets full of workers' houses."

More new entries from Rowling will be unveiled on the site every day until December 23.
