Meryl Streep and Anna Kendrick showed up at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City on Monday, December 8 for the premiere of their musical flick "Into the Woods". The two actresses were joined by their co-stars such as Emily Blunt, James Corden and MacKenzie Mauzy among others.

Streep opted for an-all black piece at the event. Kendrick, meanwhile, looked pretty in a black-and-white dress by Narciso Rodriguez. Styling her hair loose, the Tony-nominated actress completed her look with a matching clutch. Blunt, who was joined by her husband John Krasinski, was beautiful in a floral dress which features some sheer panels.

Another cast member Lilla Crawford sported a black strapless dress featuring some colorful patterns on the upper part and the skirt. Mauzy was pretty in white, while Christine Baranski looked chic in her orange dress. Jon Hamm, Alyssa Milano and Daniel Huttlestone also hit the red carpet.

In a new interview with Variety, Kendrick opened up about playing Cinderella in the flick which is based on Stephen Sondheim musical. When asked if her dress was heavy, she explained, "It was made of light material, but it was definitely no joke. Colleen Atwood does not mess around."

The "Pitch Perfect" star additionally said of Streep, "She was amazing and joked around between takes. She had these blue press-on nails and they would pop off. There was sort of a running game of who could find the most press-on nails on set by the end of the day."
