Family comes first for Brian Williams. The NBC News journalist is reportedly taking the night off from "Nightly News" broadcast to watch his daughter Allison Williams' performance in "Peter Pan Live!" which airs live on Thursday night, December 4.

The holiday musical event is filmed with no audience in the studio, but Brian told TVNewser that "immediate family only" would be watching the broadcast "sequestered in an undisclosed location-close enough to the production as to burst through the stage door the moment the credits roll."

Lester Holt will fill in for Brian on "Nightly News" Thursday night, and he will return to his desk on Friday.

Allison Williams takes the lead role in "Peter Pan Live!", which is directed by Glenn Weiss and executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Christopher Walken, Christian Borle, Kelli O'Hara, Taylor Louderman, Alanna Saunders, Jake Lucas and John Allyn join the cast.
