The cast of highly-anticipated flick "Exodus: Gods and Kings" attended the world premiere in London's Leicester Square on Wednesday, December 3. Christian Bale who plays Moses and Joel Edgerton who portrays Pharaoh Ramses II were among the cast members who hit the red carpet. Looking dapper in their suits, the two stars posed together for the cameras at one point.

The event was also attended by Maria Valverde who looked beautiful in her strapless dress. Styling her hair loose, the actress wore a long dress adorned with flowers and star-shaped ornaments on its layers. Nefertari depicter Golshifteh Farahani also turned heads with her black one-shoulder ensemble. She completed her glamorous look with diamond earrings, ring and bracelet. They were joined by Ben Kingsley, Andrew Tarbet, director Ridley Scott, Andy Serkis and Salma Hayek among others.

Speaking at the event, Scott commented on criticism that he only cast white actors for prominent roles. "I always get flak. I cast very carefully," he said, as quoted by Wales Online. Edgerton also commented on the issue, saying, "Ridley's no idiot. He knows what he wants to do and if people aren't pleased, that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion."

He additionally recalled his excitement when he got the role. "It's a pinch-myself moment, to have one of my favorite directors call up and ask me to be a part of this. I couldn't believe it. I was like, 'Really? Is this true?'... I was like a kid playing dress-up, literally. It was an honor. I was very excited," the Australian star shared.

"Exodus: Gods and Kings" centers on Moses' struggles as he leads 600,000 people to flee Egypt and faces the wrath of the king. It is set to hit U.S. theaters on December 12.
