The actress who voices Queen Elsa hopes to reprise her role in the second film which she says is in the works along with the stage musical.

"Frozen (2013)" is confirmed to get a sequel. While a follow-up story is inevitable given the huge success of the first movie, Disney hasn't made any official announcement. But rest assured, the second movie is coming as Idina Menzel says it's indeed in development.

"They're all in the works," the "Glee" actress reveals to The Telegraph when asked about the sequel and the stage musical. While she won't likely star in the Broadway adaptation, the Tony-winning star hopes to return as the voice of Queen Elsa for the upcoming second movie.

"Not the stage show," Menzel says. "I don't know what will happen with that - but the movie hopefully. We'll see. I'm just going along for the ride."

It's been a year since the movie was released, but there seems to be no stopping its success. As the film raked in over a billion worldwide, the merchandise beat Barbie to become the best-selling toy for Christmas ultimately ending the Mattel doll's 11-year reign.

Menzel never expected kids to recognize her as the voice behind Elsa, and was amazed when she found they did. "I remember some of those classic Disney songs from movies, and you knew the character but you didn't know the person behind the song," she says. "But this is different, this is weird."

While waiting for the sequel and the musical, a short film titled "Frozen Fever" which will bring back the beloved characters from the movie will be released in spring 2015.
