The former 'Cosby Show' star declined to say a word when he was repeatedly asked about the sexual assault allegations against him.

AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby keeps tight-lipped on the rape allegations that resurfaced after his attempt on dominating the Internet with #CosbyMeme backfired. The funnyman was quizzed by a reporter about the sexual assault claims during a radio interview.

The former "Cosby Show" star was accompanied by his wife Camille during the tense sit-down. The interviewer, Scott Simon, brought up the subject when they were discussing about the couple's loan to the Smithsonian's National Museum of African Art.

"This question gives me no pleasure, Mr. Cosby, but there have been serious allegations raised about you in recent days," the National Public Radio host said. When Cosby didn't say a word, the host voiced the star's response for the listeners, "You're shaking your head no."

"I'm in the news business, I have to ask the question. Do you have any response to those charges?" Simon prodded. Cosby stayed silent, and the interviewer again let fans know what Cosby's gesture was to the question, "[You're] shaking your head no."

Simon repeated his question, "There are people who love you who may want to hear from you about this. I want to give you the chance." The 77-year-old comedian remained mum on the matter, not even saying a "no comment."

Simon later tweeted about the interview, "I said 'It gives me no pleasure, but I have to ask' because Mrs. Cosby there & because Bill is so beloved. But I still asked. He began to shake his head as soon as I began the sentence. We both--we all--knew what I was talking about."

"Perhaps they thought No Comment would sound worse than silence. It doesn't," he weighed in on Cosby's silence treatment. "I think anyone, Mr. Cosby & PR team included, would know the question was likely to be asked. I assume his response was planned."
