The period drama will hit limited U.S. theaters in the second quarter of next year after premiering in the actor's native land.

Russell Crowe's directorial debut "The Water Diviner" is set for a 2015 release. Warner Bros. has picked up the domestic distribution of the period drama in which Crowe also stars.
The movie is an epic adventure set four years after the devastating battle of Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. Australian farmer Connor (Crowe) travels to Istanbul to discover the fate of his sons, reported missing in the action, where he forges a relationship with the beautiful Turkish woman (Olga Kurylenko) who owns the hotel in which he stays. Holding on to hope, and with the help of a Turkish Officer, Connor embarks on a journey across the country to find the truth about the fate of his sons.
"The Water Diviner" was written by Andrew Knight and Andrew Anastasios. Andrew Mason and Troy Lum of Hopscotch Features and Keith Rodger of Fear of God Films produced the film. Meanwhile, among the financiers was Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment.
The pic will be released in limited U.S. theaters April 24, 2015. However, it will hit other continents first such as New Zealand, Australia and Turkey this December.
