Mark Wahlberg is a risk taker in the full trailer for "The Gambler". He plays Jim Bennett, an English professor with big gambling addiction and dysfunctional relationship with his wealthy mother. On top of that, he's romantically involved with his student.
Bennett bets it all when he borrows from a gangster and offers his own life as collateral. As his relationship with his student deepens, he must take the ultimate risk for a second chance.
The movie is a remake of a movie of the same name starring James Caan in 1974. It's adapted from the short novel of the same name by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Rupert Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes") directs the revival, while William Monahan ("The Departed") pens the screenplay. Michael K. Williams, Brie Larson, John Goodman and Jessica Lange join the cast ensemble.
