Just a week after he teased fans of Pee-wee's return, Paul Reubens said that a new movie about the eccentric character is indeed in the works. Reubens went to "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday, October 29 to confirm the news.

"There is going to be one," Reubens told host Jimmy Fallon. "I was hoping I could make this huge announcement tonight, but it's a week away, I think, from being announced." The actor also confirmed that Judd Apatow would be producing and that the script would be co-written by himself and comedian Paul Rust.

When asked who the director would be, Reubens refused to spell out any name until the official announcement is made. "Is it Steven Spielberg?" Fallon pushed him. Reubens responded with a head shake. Shooting will start in February.

News about the revival of a "Pee-Wee" movie dated back 3 years ago. Apatow, who was rumored to produce the film, said the project did not move on because it kept "stalling and stalling." Reubens then came forward with an update last week, saying, "There's going to be a big announcement any minute now. Yes. It's been months and months of being right on the verge of being announced."
