'Grey's Anatomy' Star Jesse Williams Joins Others at Ferguson Protest

The Dr. Jackson Avery depicter on 'Grey's Anatomy' joins a 12-mile march from Ferguson, Missouri, to St. Louis and shares some photos from the rally.

AceShowbiz - Actor Jesse Williams was among thousands of people who joined a rally on Saturday, October 11 to seek justice following the death of an unarmed African-American teenager Michael Brown in August. Williams and other protesters marched 12 miles from Ferguson, Missouri, to St. Louis as they demanded the police officer who shot Brown to be charged with crimes.

The Dr. Jackson Avery depicter on "Grey's Anatomy" took to social media to share some photos from the protests which are called "Ferguson October" and "Weekend of Resistance." One photo he posted on Instagram showed him hugging a female protester. "This is a two way street. Ferguson, MO Oct 11, 2014," he captioned it.

Fellow protesters who met the actor also shared their photos and Williams retweeted them on his account. "Incredibly proud of the progress before me tonight. Hard working, young people full of love & pain on a move. #FergusonOctober," he tweeted on Sunday. "A man sworn to protect & serve, shot an unarmed teen 6 times from a distance w/ witnesses & every gesture is being made not to charge him," he added of Brown's fatal shooting which sparked unrest in the area.

Most recently, another African-American teenager named Vonderrit Myers Jr. was also fatally shot by an off-duty police officer on Wednesday, October 8. According to the police, the 18-year-old teen opened fire, so the officer fired 17 rounds.
