Both Amblin Television shows are given new season orders by CBS to fill the network's midseason schedule next year.

AceShowbiz - CBS renewed two of its shows at the same time for new summer seasons. "Under the Dome" will return for a third season while freshman drama "Extant" will get a second season, the network announced on Thursday, October 9.

"We're committed to delivering our viewers and advertisers year-round programming with a wide variety of storytelling," said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. "We continue to see summer as a great place for unique concepts, innovative business models and passionate television audiences."

Both shows are from Steven Spielberg's Amblin TV and CBS TV Studios. They will return in summer next year, most likely with 13 episodes like their predecessors. They will be joined in the new slate by new drama "Zoo" and the new season of reality series "Big Brother".

Meanwhile, "Reckless" reportedly will not be coming back although CBS has not announced it. There is no word yet regarding "Unforgettable" although Deadline reported that the crime series would eventually get its fourth season order.
