Prince teamed up with Yahoo! to throw a party to celebrate the release of his two new albums, "ART OFFICIAL AGE" and "PLECTRUMELECTRUM". During the event held at the historic Paisley Park studios, the iconic singer took the stage to perform some tracks and he brought out Kendrick Lamar to help him sing one of them.
The Compton rapper joined Prince onstage for a funky take on "What's My Name". He added a few bars over funk riffs and tumbling drum fills to the rare track from the 56-year-old musician's 1998 box set, "Crystal Ball".
Both of "ART OFFICIAL AGE" and "PLECTRUMELECTRUM", the latter is Prince's collaborative project with 3rd Eye Girl, arrived on Tuesday, September 30. The release party was one of "a series of very special events" Prince promised when revealing details of his new LPs back in August.
On Tuesday, Prince also did a Facebook Q&A to promote the records, but he only answered one question by a fan who asked him to "address the importance of ALL music being tuned to 432hz sound frequencies." Prince responded to that with a link to this article.
