Anna Paquin's Rogue Scenes Added Back to 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'
Movie

The character's cameo in the latest 'X-Men' installment was cut from the theatrical release due to its subplot element.

Anna Paquin's Rogue will not be completely eliminated from "X-Men: Days of Future Past" after all. The character's scenes which were cut from the theatrical release will be added back to the film and re-released as "Rogue Cut" on homevideo platforms next summer.

Writer Simon Kinberg previously explained why Rogue's cameo was excluded from the finished version. "In a movie that had a ton of plots and a ton of characters to service, the Rogue plot - as you will probably eventually see - was a subplot, it was a deviation from the main story of the movie, and as much as we loved it when we saw it, anything that took you away from the main spine, the main story of the film, we had to cut," he told Yahoo! Movie.

"If it's anybody's fault, it was mine, because I shouldn't have written it that way, I should've integrated her into the main story," Kinberg continued, adding it was the most complicated movie he had ever worked on and praying "to God I never work on another time travel movie."

Kinberg made the announcement of the extended version's release on Thursday, September 25 at Stage 21. It will become available in the first half of 2015, most likely during the summer, Variety reported. Beside Rogue's cut scenes, the extension will also include other sequences that add up to 10 extra minutes.
