E! will pay tribute to the late comedian by celebrating 'Joan Day' with special programming on Friday, September 19.

E! has announced Friday, September 19 as "Joan Day" in honor of Joan Rivers. The network plans special programming to pay tribute to the late comedian on that day, including a "Fashion Police" special which will feature Joan's daugter Melissa Rivers as a co-host.
The celebration begins at 7 A.M. ET/PT with an all-day marathon that showcases some of Joan's best jokes from "Fashion Police". E! will also air back-to-back episodes, including Joan's 80th birthday celebration and the last "Fashion Police" she did for the MTV Video Music Awards and Primetime Emmy special.
Melissa will later join Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos in a 90-minute special titled "Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan" that airs at 8 P.M. ET/PT. It will feature "behind-the-scenes footage, including never-before-aired moments of Joan candidly joking with the cast and cracking up the studio audience."
The 90-minute special will also include "clips of some of the incredible guests from the worlds of fashion, entertainment, sports and more that joined Joan on the 'Fashion Police' stage." Melissa and the other co-hosts will additionally share their personal stories with Joan.
Joan died September 4 at the age of 81, a week after hospitalized following cardiac and respiratory arrest during a throat surgery. Health Department has been reviewing the clinic which treated Joan before her condition went critical and she was taken to Mount Sinai hospital, where she passed away.
