The singer, who's currently curating the soundtrack for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1', is also expected to work on the follow-up to her 'Pure Heroine' album.

AceShowbiz - While many people were out enjoying the last days of summer last weekend, Lorde worked on her new music in the studio. She recently teased her new project with an Instagram picture of a candle standing against the soundboard taken during a recording session.

"I always remind myself to bring a candle for the studio and finally I did today and ohhhhhhh," she captioned the snap. The New Zealand singer, however, refused to detail the project she's working on.

In late July, it was announced that Lorde would curate the soundtrack for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" in addition to providing a song for the highly-anticipated movie. She was probably in the studio for that reason, but she might also work on a new album to follow up her 2013 acclaimed LP "Pure Heroine".

Later this week, the "Royals" hitmaker is scheduled to open her tour in Philadelphia, PA. She'll spend the rest of the month traveling to cities across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping things up on October 12 in Austin, TX.
