Martin Scorsese's "Revenge of the Green Dragons" unleashes the first trailer and poster ahead of its limited October release. Starring Ray Liotta, Harry Shum Jr. and Justin Chon, the actioner is set in New York City in 1989 when a murder investigation leads to the Green Dragons gang.

The film is directed by Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo. The former directed "Infernal Affairs" which Scorsese remade as "The Departed". The story is adapted from Fredric Dannen's New Yorker article in which Asian-American gang life in 80's and 90's New York City got highlighted.

"Revenge of the Green Dragons" follows two immigrant brothers (Chon and Kevin Wu) who join Chinatown's Green Dragons gang in pursuit of the American Dream. The brothers quickly rise up the ranks, drawing the unwanted attention of hard-boiled city cops. After an ill-fated love affair pits Sonny against his own brother, he sets out for revenge on the very gang who made him who he is.

The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on August 31 and then become available exclusively on DirecTV and VOD for 30 days starting September 11. A24 will later release it on limited theaters in October. Scorsese executive produces the pic.
