It's just been announced that CBS Films is adapting Broadway musical "13 (2015)" for big screen. "Easy A" scribe Bert V. Royal is tapped to write the screenplay, while Bob Boyett who produced the stage version will serve as a producer for the film.

The story revolves around a popular boy from New York City who moves to a small town in Indiana and tries to climb the social ladder in his new place. The play premiered in 2007 at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles before going to the Great White Way.

No cast has been announced for the movie, but Ariana Grande made her acting debut as Charlotte in the Broadway version in 2008. Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown who penned the music and lyrics in the play will handle the same duties for the movie adaptation.
