Details of the upcoming season 2 of "Fargo" were shared after the show's renewal was announced on Monday, July 21. Producer Noah Hawley told reporters at TCA summer press tour that the next installment would feature all-new cast and a different setting.

The second season will travel back to 1979 and focus on the younger version of Keith Carradine's character Lou Solverson. "What this next 10-hour movie is going to be is the story of Sioux Falls," Hawley said, although there will be some scenes set in Luverne, Minn. and Fargo.

Describing the new story as a cross between the original film, the Coens' "Miller's Crossing" and "The Man Who Wasn't There", Hawley insisted, "It's not a repeat, it's a new story with new characters," but still tells "the history of true crime in the Midwest."

Of the 33-year-old Solverson who just returned from the Vietnam War, he said, "He thought he left the war behind, but he came back and here it is, it's domestic." He added, "We will meet Molly's mother, who was not a character in season 1 ... and we'll learn what happened to her."

"Ben Schmidt [the police lieutenant played by Peter Breitmayer in the first season] will factor in there somewhere," Hawley said. He teased, "There were a lot of clues left in the first season and we'll do our best to hit those."

Filming for the second season will begin in January in Calgary in Alberta, Canada for a fall 2015 premiere.
