Following the success of their EP 'She Looks So Perfect', the band returns to the U.S. with their debut album that has peaked at No. 1 in some countries including Aussie and New Zealand.

5 Seconds of Summer is clearly having a good year. The band, which started gaining international fame after joining One Direction on their "Take Me Home" tour last year, became a household name after they came with their worldwide debut single "She Looks So Perfect" earlier this year.
The track reached No. 1 on charts in 39 countries including the U.K. and the four-piece's home country of Australia. It has even been certified double platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association. It serves as the first single and title track of their EP that arrived in early April and peaked at No. 2 on Billboard 200.
Following the success, they announced their first album. "['She Looks so Perfect' EP] is like a sample product of what the album's gonna be like," the group said of their full-length in a recent interview with Fuse.tv. "The album's gonna be a bit more diverse and a bit more colorful. We've been working with some of our favorite writers and producers, which helped us a lot with our sound... It's gonna be good, it's a fun album."
Called "5 Seconds of Summer", the LP was already released in several countries in late June and also received positive response from fans as it landed at No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. The album is scheduled to hit the stores in the U.S. on July 22.
In addition to "She Looks So Perfect", the self-titled set has been preceded by singles "Don't Stop" and "Amnesia". To support their new project, 5 Seconds of Summer was tapped as an opener for the European leg of One Direction's "Where We Are" tour. Luke Hemmings and his bandmates will rejoin the British boyband when the tour comes to the U.S. next month.
