Rooney Mara boards a true-story drama "A House in the Sky". "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)" actress is set to produce a real-life kidnapping tale for Annapurna Pictures based on a memoir of the same name by the victim of the kidnapping, Amanda Lindhout.

Lindhout is a Canadian journalist who was abducted in 2008 in Mogadishu, Somalia, by a rebel terrorist group. She was kept hostage for over a year and subjected to terrible abuse, torture, rape, and starvation before being released in 2009 after the ransom was paid.

The project is developed as a starring vehicle for Mara who is also attached to play Tiger Lily in Joe Wright's "Pan". It will mark the second time the brunette beauty serves as a producer after 2013's "The Truth About Emanuel".

"Rooney Mara is someone whose talent and adventurous spirit I admire deeply. I'm thrilled that she's teaming with Annapurna Pictures to bring 'A House in the Sky' to the screen. I can't imagine a better match," Lindhout says in a statement.
