Paramount Pictures and Chinese company Beijing Pangushi Investment Co Ltd have resolved their issues regarding the upcoming release of "Transformers: Age of Extinction". The studio said on Monday, June 23 that the movie would hit theaters without edits.
Pangu accused Paramount of failing to perform contractual obligations that include having a red carpet premiere for the movie at one of its hotels. The company demanded the studio to remove any scene depicting the logo or properties of the company from the movie and other marketing materials.
Paramount said at that time that they were dealing with the problem, and they have apparently reached the middle. Through a spokeswoman, the studio said, "After friendly consultations, the two sides have achieved mutual trust, and reached an understanding." Meanwhile, Pangu said in a statement on its website that both sides "expressed willingness to suitably resolve the issue of screening the film in China."
"Transformers: Age of Extinction" will debut as scheduled this Friday, June 27 worldwide. It is expected to be one of the highest-grossing movies of the year.
