Sony is reportedly meeting with other directors, in case Phil Lord and Chris Miller won't reconsider the offer.

It seems that "The Lego Movie" directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, won't helm Sony's "Ghostbusters 3". The Wrap reporter, Jeff Sneider, revealed on Twitter that the duo rejected the offer to sit behind the lens for the upcoming third "Ghostbusters" installment.

It's should be noted that Lord and Miller originally turned down "Lego Movie" as well before they eventually said yes. "They could very well return to GHOSTBUSTERS, I'm just told the studio is meeting with other directors now in case they don't...," Sneider wrote.

Ivan Reitman, who directed the first two films, decided not to return to the helming seat after Harold Ramis died. "When I came back from Harold's funeral, it was really moving and it made me think about a lot of things," he said. "I'd been thinking about it for weeks, that I'd rather just produce this Ghostbusters."

"Ghostbusters 3" eyes an early 2015 start. The script reportedly gets minor tweak so that the project can move forward without Ramis. The actor passed away from complications arising from vasculitis on February 24 at his home in Chicago. He was 69.

The first two movies starred Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson.
