The organization announced on Tuesday, February 11 that this year's inductees would also include British songwriter Graham Gouldman, "Always on My Mind" writer Mark James and Jim Weatherly who penned 1973 hit "Midnight Train to Georgia".

Davies is a former lead singer and main songwriter of The Kinks, the band which he founded with younger brother Dave Davies. The 69-year-old British rocker is the person behind some of the band's hits like "You Really Got Me", ''Tired of Waiting for You" and "All Day and All of the Night".

Donovan's songs include "Sunshine Superman," "Mellow Yellow" and "Atlantis." The Scottish singer-songwriter has also worked with the likes of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ronnie Wood and Jeff Beck in the past.

"Each of our 2014 inductees has been responsible for captivating the world with their creativity for decades, serving up a rich variety of songs for our global soundtrack," Hall of Fame chairman Jimmy Webb said in a statement.

The five musicians will be recognized at the organization's 45th annual induction ceremony that will be held on June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.
