As casting rumors surrounding "The Fantastic Four" reboot continue to grow, Miles Teller who has been linked to the tentpole project since last year confirms that he's indeed circling a role in the superhero remake. "Yeah, that should be coming up in the next few weeks," the actor told Punch Drunk Critics.

In a chat with MTV News, he additionally said, "I've told you this before. I think Josh Trank is a very talented filmmaker. I think that if it were all to come together and land in my pocket, I would absolutely love to put a new face and a new spin on a character, one that people have already done and do something different with it."

Rumor has it, the "Whiplash" star is eying the role of Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic. He will face competition from "Game of Thrones" star Richard Madden, who's the latest addition to the mix. The previously-rumored candidates are Jack O'Connell and Madden's co-star Kit Harington.

Saoirse Ronan and Kate Mara have been reported to be testing for Susan Storm a.k.a. Invisible Woman. Teller's "That Awkward Moment" on-screen buddy Michael B. Jordan has been attached to play Johnny Storm a.k.a. the Human Torch, but there's no word on who the candidate(s) for Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing is.

According to Variety, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" scribe Simon Kinberg has finished the script. Screen tests are scheduled by the end of this month to find the right actors to play Reed Richards and Sue Storm and to see which group has the best chemistry. The film is due in the U.S. on June 19, 2015 with Trank who previously directed Jordan in "Chronicle" on board as a helmer.

The first "Fantastic Four" film was released in 2005, after an attempt to bring the superheroes to the big screen in the 1990s failed. Ioan Gruffudd starred as Reed, Jessica Alba and Chris Evans played the Storm sister and brother respectively, and Michael Chiklis portrayed Grimm.

A sequel, "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer", followed in 2007. The actors from the first movie were all back reprising the respective roles. Both movies were directed by Tim Story and grossed more than $620 million worldwide combined.
