Lorde has dropped the music video for her new global single, "Team". Shot in Red Hook, Brooklyn by Young Replicant, the clip follows the story of a young man who's brought to an abandoned ruin which the queen of the place Lorde calls her "palace."

"This video was born from a dream I had a few months ago about teenagers in their own world, a world with hierarchies and initiations, where the boy who was second in command had acne on his face, and so did the girl who was queen," Lorde described her new video on her Facebook page.

"I dreamt about this world being so different to anything anyone had ever seen, a dark world full of tropical plants and ruins and sweat. And of this world, I dreamt about tests that didn't need to be passed in order to be allowed in: sometimes the person who loses is stronger," she added.

Shortly after arriving on Vevo, Lorde's new video crashed the service due to the high demand. The New Zealand native voiced her excitement on Twitter, saying, "Omg you crashed vevo!" The 17-year-old singer/songwriter also had a Twitter Q&A session and answered a fan's question about what she liked the most about her "Team" video.

"Probably the diversity of the casting! It was important to me that we cast real people [with] real faces. Holla acne!" Lorde said.

"Team" is featured in the young starlet's debut LP, "Pure Heroine", which peaked at No. 3 on Billboard 200 after being released back in September. The song has peaked at No. 69 on Billboard 100 while its predecessor, "Royals", is currently spending its ninth week at No. 1 on the same chart.
