Nick Eversman is added to "Get on Up" cast ensemble. The 27-year-old actor who has a recurring role on The CW's "The Tomorrow People" is tapped to portray the young Mick Jagger in the upcoming movie about late musician James Brown.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eversman won the role by auditioning and sending in a side-by-side comparison of himself and the real Jagger. He also submitted a recording in which he sang The Rolling Stones' classic "Time Is on My Side" for HBO's TV movie "Cinema Verite".

Jagger will serve as one of the producers for the biopic. Tate Taylor ("The Help") is set to direct, Chadwick Boseman secures the role of the Godfather of Soul. Other cast members include Viola Davis, Dan Aykroyd, Octavia Spencer, and Craig Robinson.

The movie, written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, will give a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of Brown. It follows the rise of the artist from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into a world famous and highly influential musician. It's due August 1, 2014 in the United States.

Eversman was a regular cast, playing a teenage son of Ashley Judd's on-screen character in Emmy-nominated series "Missing" which was canceled last year. He also landed a part in Reese Witherspoon-starring true-story drama "Wild".
