Mark Wahlberg to Produce Julius Caesar Origin Story 'The Roman'

The upcoming film will reportedly be set in a rarely-discussed period of the Roman dictator's life when he was kidnapped by pirates.

AceShowbiz - Mark Wahlberg is making a Julius Caesar movie called "The Roman" in the vein of "Batman Begins". The rapper-turned-actor will serve as a producer for the project that will explore the origin story of the Roman's famous figure before he ruled the empire.

The film is expected to revolve around Caesar as a young general in the Roman army. It will tell the story of his capture and subsequent escape from Cilician pirates, and follow him back to Rome as he climbed his way up the political ladder to eventually become a dictator.

Wahlberg is currently busy filming "Transformers: Age of Extinction" directed by Michael Bay. He is also producing "Entourage" movie and has signed on for "Ted 2".
