Cher tells U.K.'s Notebook magazine in an interview that she is single again, saying, 'I just broke up with someone.'

Cher, who has been dating her on-and-off boyfriend Tim Medvetz since 2008, apparently has decided to end their romance. The "Believe" singer said in a recent interview with U.K.'s Notebook magazine that she just went through a separation.

"I just broke up with someone but I need a little bit of a break. I don't believe in going from one (relationship) to another - I have girlfriends that won't leave someone they're with until they have someone to move on to and you just can't do that," she said, as quoted by Wenn.

The singer also told the magazine that she did not "really think" about walking down the aisle for the third time. "I don't really think about it, but I wouldn't say no. I just can't think why I would. Something really bizarre would have to happen. I like being in a relationship and I'm a really good girlfriend. But you know, you have periods where you're with someone and relationships have their own life. I'm kind of fatalistic about those things," Cher explained.

The 67-year-old singer also opened up about her relationship with her son Chaz Bono, who underwent a female-to-male gender transition. To the magazine, Cher said that she kept her distance from Chaz, born Chastity, because she was afraid she would not recognize her child. Their cold relationship, however, has changed now.

Cher said, "We're in the best place we've ever been since she was young. And I have to say 'she' because Chastity was a 'she' then and I have to make the distinction with Chaz as he is now." She added, "It's starting to be nice because we're creating memories now and we've actually had the most fun together lately than we've had in forever."
