Lady GaGa stopped by "Good Morning America" on Monday, September 9. After performing her "ARTPOP" lead single "Applause" in her seashell bra at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, she opted for a more conservative look for her appearance on the ABC show while singing the same song.

Channeling Dorothy from the "Wizard of Oz", the 27-year-old entertainer wore a blue plaid dress and a black wig as she held her own pooch Fozzi as Toto on her lap as she opened her song number with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" before segueing into "Applause".

Complete with a yellow brick road stage set-up and a trio of back-up dancers dressed in costume as the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man, GaGa put on an "Oz"-themed show in front of her Little Monsters who were similarly part of the production as poppy flowers. The Mother Monster then went through a few costume changes as she performed her new single, changing into a pink pixie gown capped with a golden blonde wig and accessorized with a wand.

After delighting the audience with her song and dance routine, GaGa chatted with program host Robin Roberts revealing why she chose the "Oz"-theme for her "Applause" rendition. "I think it really is an explanation in a way for my entire career so far. It's like my way of saying all of these outfits and all of these wigs that I've been changing over the years, this is my way of assimilating and this is my way of surviving. This is my way of getting to Oz to have all my dreams come true," she said.
