Marvel Wants Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Be 'Doctor Strange'
Movie

The director and actor of 'Don Jon' is reportedly the 'ideal' figure the studio's execs are looking for to star in the Sorcerer Supreme movie.

AceShowbiz - Latino Review has a major scoop on the likely Marvel Phase Three movie, "Dr. Strange". According to the site, "Premium Rush" and "Looper" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt turns out to be the most perfect actor to portray the Sorcerer Supreme, who can use magic to achieve any effect he desires as depicted in the comic books. The juicy casting news is reportedly obtained from internal talks between Marvel execs.

The site then provides further details as followed: "In the current draft of the script by Oppenheimer and Donnelly, the Sorcerer Supreme is written for someone in their early 30s. Levitt has both the charm and also the swagger the script currently demands. That and the fact that Levitt is one of the more likeable actors in town." Even so, both the actor and Marvel have not taken it to the negotiation table yet.

Months ago, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed to Collider that "Doctor Strange" was under development at the studio with the executive producer of "Iron Man 3" already "working on the bones."

Asked when it would likely be released, Feige said, "As we look past 2015, past 'Avengers 2' and 'Ant-Man', I think Dr. Strange should be one of the next movies in the years following that."

Gordon-Levitt will next be seen in "Don Jon", his directorial debut in which he stars alongside Scarlett Johansson.
