Sony Pictures has a special gift for all active military personnel and veterans. From the studio's Tuesday announcement, Sony is offering them free admission to Roland Emmerich-directed "White House Down" July 4, only on a first-come, first-served basis with a proper military ID, at any Regal Entertainment Group, AMC, Cinemark, or Carmike Cinemas theater.

"We think 'White House Down' is the summer's best action movie, so on July 4th, we're inviting all active duty and veteran military personnel to bring a guest and see it for free. It's a great way to celebrate the holiday and to honor and thank the troops for their service to our country," says Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution for Sony, in a statement.

The action-heavy movie stars Channing Tatum as policeman John Cale who has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer. When he takes his daughter on a tour of the White House, the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. With the nation's government falling into chaos and time running out, Cale must save the president, his daughter and the country.

Also starring Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal, "White House Down" debuted to $24.9 million in the North American box office.
