Artist John Garancheski says that tattoo session with Zayn and Louis was really fun as they had their own ideas, adding that Zayn wanted 'a comic caricature kind of thing' tattoo.

AceShowbiz - Members of One Direction, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, stopped by Tattooed Heart Studios in Glen Burnie, Maryland between U.S. tour dates to get a new image inked to their body. Tattoo artist John Garancheski who worked at the tattoo parlor shared stories of the popular band members' visitation to MTV News.
"That was pretty fun times on Monday night. It didn't really hit me right away. They were so casual and they were such nice guys. They were super cool. So they came in and they had a couple ideas of what they wanted to get done. And Louis and Zayn were the ones who actually ended up getting tattoos," Garancheski said, adding that Liam Payne, who was also with them, "had some ideas, I think, but he wasn't super committed. He went and kicked around town."
Garancheski also shared details about Zayn's new girlfriend-inspired tattoo. Zayn wanted to ink an image of a girl who resembles his girlfriend Little Mix's Perrie Edwards in "a comic caricature kind of thing." The tattooist, however, was afraid that he did not have enough time.
"He wasn't pushy. He was like 'I really want this and I'd like you to do it.' He showed me a picture of his girlfriend, Perrie, and he was like 'I kind of want it to look like her, but not to be her, to kind of be like a comic-style version of her,' " Garancheski explained.
The tattoo artist had a chance to observe Zayn's other collections and commented that the singer had "some pretty cool tattoos." He added, "[Zayn] seemed like he had some pretty good work on him. From a technical aspect some of their tattoos were not so great, but they had some great work too. So it looked like a great collection of stuff."
The One Direction boys are currently on U.S. leg of "Take Me Home" tour. They are scheduled to perform at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on June 28 and 29 in Wantagh, New York.
