The Wanted's Nathan Sykes Rejoins Band Following Throat Surgery
Music

In less than two months after going under the knife, the boyband's member was back to his old form on Sunday, June 9.

When The Wanted announced back in April that member Nathan Sykes would take an indefinite break from the boyband to recover from his throat surgery, their fans might not have expected the "unforeseen hiatus" to be over this soon. But that's what they learned on Sunday, June 9 when Sykes surprised the crowd at the Summertime Ball Festival when he walked onstage at the Wembley Stadium.

Fellow band members Siva Kaneswaran, Max George, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker had already performed several of their group's hits when Sykes popped out to sing his solo on their single "I Found You". By pulling off the live performance, his fans can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the 20-year-old singer has successfully come out of his vocal ailment and can now rejoin his band on successive gigs.

"Thanks for all the love today. Really put a smile on my face ...," Sykes tweeted after his big comeback performance. Band mate George gave a heartwarming shout out with "#NathanIsBack love you mate! Welcome back," to make "#NathanIsBack" a worldwide trending hash tag on Twitter-verse.

With his return to his boyband, Sykes can now join the guys in promoting their latest single "Walks Like Rihanna". While not performing on tour and on other live gigs, fans can get to follow both the personal and professional lives of the fab five through their reality show "The Wanted Life", which debuted earlier this month on the E! network.
