A new trailer (via Deadline) for Josh Duhamel's upcoming film "Scenic Route" previews how brutal the 40-year-old actor can be when a certain situation forces him to be stranded in the middle of nowhere. Portraying a man who has it all named Mitchell, Duhamel explodes into a kicking rage and mercilessly batters his buddy Dan Fogler.

Sporting a mohawk, Duhamel told Crave Online that he felt "cool" with it. "I'd always been looking for some excuse to have a mohawk anyway so this is perfect," said the husband of Stacy Ferguson. Co-star Fogler also commented on such quirky hair style, saying, "It was pretty rad. It was very Mad Max."

The Goetz Brothers serve behind the lens for the 2013 SXSW film, which centers on Mitchell and his unemployed old pal Carter. The lifelong friends, who have drifted apart, are on a road trip when their old pickup breaks down, leaving them stranded on an isolated desert road.

As the two question who they are and who they could have been, their agitation leads to physical confrontation and ultimately knife-wielding madness, and what begins as an inconvenience becomes a very real life or death struggle.

Written by Kyle Killen, the upcoming drama is also supported by Miracle Laurie, Christie Burson, Peter Michael Goetz and Mark Kubr. Scott Freeman and Brion Hambel are among the producers.

"Scenic Route" is slated to arrive in theaters nationwide on August 23.
