The captain of the starship USS Enterprise realizes that he puts his crew in danger as his enemy approaches them, piloting a huge ship with weapon of mass destruction.

AceShowbiz - A new trailer for "Star Trek Into Darkness" unleashed via Apple sees Captain Kirk locked in a heated war with his enemy John Harrison. Ignoring his fellow officers' warning about the danger he is headed to as he goes after Harrison, headstrong Captain Kirk soon realizes that he has miscalculated everything.

Kirk seems to have underestimated Harrison as he is taken aback by the villain's ship that is more imposing than the Enterprise. Knowing that he has put his team in danger, the brash captain says, "I'm sorry." The video later previews Kirk going solo to defeat his enemy, who reminds the captain as saying, "No ship should go down without her captain."

"Star Trek Into Darkness" centers on Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise, who are tasked with leading the deadly manhunt to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

In a red-carpet interview with Collider, star Zachary Quinto, who portrays Commander Spock, revealed that the first three and a half weeks of production were spent to film the sequence on the Enterprise Bridge. He also made an opportunity to ask fans to watch it as the 3D effects of this film were "amazing."

Written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Bruce Greenwood and Damon Lindelof, the twelfth installment in the science fiction film franchise is directed by J.J. Abrams. The film, which stars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana, is ready to hit U.S. theaters on May 17.
