The final trailer for "The Host" has landed online. Sharing some new footage from the film, the new preview focuses on Melanie and Jared's love story, while still giving a look at the actions.

In the film, Saoirse Ronan plays Melanie Stryder whose mind is partially taken over by alien called the Seeker which invades Earth. Max Irons stars as Jared who fights to bring Melanie back, holding onto the humanness that still exists within her body.

Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed. When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end.

Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

The upcoming romance and sci-fi film is based on the novel of the same title by Stephenie Meyer, the author of "Twilight" and its sequels. Directed by Andrew Niccol who also penned the script, "The Host" also stars Jake Abel, Diane Kruger, Chandler Canterbury, and William Hurt. The film is set to hit U.S. theaters on March 29.
