The 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star is disappointed and upset that she was led to believe that he would fight for their marriage.

AceShowbiz - Kordell Stewart filed for divorce from Porsha Williams, and she didn't see it coming. In a statement issued by her rep to Us Weekly, "The Real housewives of Atlanta" star thought her former NFL star husband was as committed to work on whatever issues they had and save their marriage as she was, instead of filing for divorce behind her back.

"Mrs. Stewart is disappointed about her husband's recent filing for divorce," the statement reads. "Mrs. Stewart had held off on filing for a divorce herself and remained committed to the marriage because Mr. Stewart promised to work on the marriage with her. Instead, he misled her and she found out about the filing in the media. Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith."

"She was 100 percent completely blindsided. Friends are trying to contact her but she's not picking up her phone or returning texts," says a friend of hers. "Her whole identity is about being a happy, obedient wife. The other women criticized her for not having a backbone but she was like, 'A real marriage is about honoring your man, your king.' She is really upset."

Kordell filed for divorce on March 22 claiming that their marriage was "irretrievably broken." His lawyer said it was a "very difficult decision" for him. He asks judge to block his estrange wife from getting spousal support, reasoning she's "an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself." He also states there are no marital assets subject to division, hinting they have a prenuptial agreement.

It's unclear as to why Kordell, 40, called off his marriage to Porsha, 31. Earlier this month before the news about their divorce broke out, fellow "Real Housewives" star NeNe Leakes suggested that their marriage was rocky because Kordell, who went by the nickname "Slash" during his playing days, was too controlling of his reality TV star wife.

Porsha was once asked about the matter, to which she replied, "Well I don't have a problem with a man having an opinion. If you're a man, I need to know where you are leading our family. And I love that about him and along the way, there are some things I agree with and some things I don't. As long as he can respect my opinion and let me woo him into what I want."

In one episode of the Bravo reality series, Kordell gave ultimatum to Porsha to choose between having kids or her charity work. The NFL alum has a son from a previous relationship and has none with Porsha.

Porsha was introduced on the Bravo show in the third episode of the fifth season with tagline, "People say I have a picture-perfect life, and I do." She goes by Porsha Stewart on the show. She hasn't personally said a word about her impending divorce with her estranged husband but remains active on Twitter.

"Morning Dolls Today is the 1st Day of the rest of your Life! Make It GREAT! #PS," she wrote, before adding hours later, "Thank you for your Prayers," along with a quote that read, "Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God. Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God."

Kenya Moore, with whom Porsha is feuding on the Bravo show, sets aside their differences to show support for her fellow cast. She says in a statement to E! News, "I would never want to see anyone go through pain or suffering such as in a divorce. I'm a hopeless romantic and believe in love and hope they can get past their differences. I do wish Porsha well and know she will do what is best for her."
