The first teaser trailer for the Alan Patridge movie is out. In the video, Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan) and some employees of North Norfolk Digital Radio are discussing a title for a film. Patridge then lists some title suggestions, including his favorite, "Colossal Velocity", which is rejected.

The title is then set to be "Alan Partridge Is in Alpha Papa". The trailer concludes with a voice over asks, "When's it out?" Partridge says, "Don't know, don't care," before the U.K. release date, which is August 7, appears.

Previously titled "Alan Partridge: The Movie", "Alan Partridge Is in Alpha Papa" will be launched during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. It is unknown when the film will be released in the U.S.

The film portrays the events of the greatest low-to-high-ebb spectrum in Partridge's life to date - specifically how he tries to salvage his public career while negotiating a potentially violent turn of events at North Norfolk Digital Radio.

The film is directed by Declan Lowney based on the script co-written by Neil and Rob Gibbons as well as Coogan, Peter Baynham and Armando Ianuucci. All of them also serve as executive producers of the film alongside Christine Langan and Joe Oppenheimer for BBC Films and Danny Perkins and Jenny Borgars for StudioCanal.

Starring opposite Coogan are Tim Key as Sidekick Simon, Felicity Montagu as Lynn, Simon Greenall as Michael, and Phil Cornwell as DJ Dave Clifton.
