Chris Hemswoth Set to Star in Michael Mann's First Film in Four Years
Movie

The 'Thor' actor and the 'Public Enemies' helmer will collaborate for a new thriller movie which will be set in 'a world of cyber threats and attacks.'

Getting rid off his superhero persona, Chris Hemsworth will jump into thriller genre for his new movie. Variety reports that the "Thor" star has joined an untitled cyberthriller pic to be directed by Michael Mann.

The untitled Michael Mann thriller project will mark the 70-year-old director's first gig in four years. He last helmed well-reviewed "Public Enemies" in 2009. In addition to directing the upcoming film, Mann will serve as a co-producer alongside Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.

Mann has been developing the thriller film for more than a year. He penned the script along with Morgan Davis Foehl. The logline is still kept secret, but it is said that the film will take place in "a world of cyber threats and attacks."

As for Hemsworth, this will likely be his next gig after wrapping "Thor: The Dark World" since his other project "Robopocalypse" is delayed. He's actually also expected to return to the "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel, but the development is moving slowly at Universal Pictures.

Apart from "Thor 2", Hemsworth will next be seen in Ron Howard's F1 pic "Rush", starring as racer James Hunt. He is also poised to reunite with Howard in an adventure project called "In the Heart of the Sea", which Warner Bros. Pictures is interested to develop.
