NBC has pulled the plug on freshman "Do No Harm" after airing just two episodes of it. The drama series has been yanked from its Thursday, 10 P.M. slot and will be replaced with repeats of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for the next two weeks.
The decision to cancel "Do No Harm" is a no brainer since the show has the lowest ratings ever for a new drama on a major network. It debuted to only 3.1 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49, and it sank to 2.2 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in the demo for the second episode.
There's no word on which show will replace "Do No Harm" permanently.
The show's cancellation is the latest problem faced by NBC this week. The network's heavely promoted musical drama "Smash" suffered a significant ratings drop when it returned with its second season on Tuesday, February 5, and Christina Applegate has just announced her departure from sophomore comedy "Up All Night".
