AceShowbiz - A&E has unleashed a new promo for "Bates Motel", sharing first footage from the upcoming series. Also taking viewers behind the scenes and including interviews with the cast and crew, the video features Vera Farmiga who plays Norma Bates saying, "We're not remaking 'Psycho'. We're using it as an inspiration."

The scenes from the show, meanwhile, offer glimpse at a tragedy that happened to the Bates family before they start over their life in a Northern California coastal town, where they open the infamous Bates Motel.

Described as a sensitive and sweet boy, Norman (Freddie Highmore) shows a bad behavior when he loses his temper. The video also hints at a teen romance storyline and Norman's strange relationship with his mother, who doesn't hesitate to get undressed in front of her son.

Soon, creepy things begin to take place in the town. Executive producer Carlton Cuse says in the video, "This town looks really beautiful on the outside, but underneath it is something very dark and malevolent."

Set in modern day, "Bates Motel" explores the formative years of Norman Bates, relationship with his mother, Norma, and the world they inhabit. It will also give access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn first-hand how Norma helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all.

Supporting the show are Max Thieriot who portrays Norman's older brother Dylan, Nestor Carbonell who plays Sheriff Alex Romero, and Mike Vogel who stars as Deputy Zack Shelby. This thriller series is slated to premiere in March 2013.
