Jay-Z has convinced a number of various artists to let their songs be featured in "NBA 2K13". Kanye West's "Mercy" and "Amazing", Nas' "The World Is Yours" and U2's "Elevation" are some of the tracks listed in the game's soundtrack.

Also serving as the game's executive producer, Jigga will have his own tracks included in the soundtrack, such as "Run This Town" and "Pump It Up (Freestyle)". Some other performers lending their songs for the game are Coldplay, Daft Punk, Puff Daddy a.k.a. P. Diddy, Santigold and Meek Mill.

"I'm not sure if they've ever been in a video game," says 2K Sport's vice-president of marketing, Jason Argent, of these artists' participation in the soundtrack. As for Jigga, he's not only involved in compiling the music, but also gave input in the making of the game itself.

"Jay is completely obsessed with authenticity," Argent states. "So right off the bat, he said 'Look, I love this franchise and I love this game, but if you want me to be involved, I need to be truly involved. I want to actually help make this game."

He adds, "We wanted him to truly be involved from a behind-the-scenes production standpoint. [With] his involvement within the league, he brought such a level of understanding to what we were trying to accomplish... I think the final product will reflect that level of excitement that he had."

"NBA 2K13" is the latest installment of the popular basketball gaming franchise developed by Visual Concepts. It will be released in North America on October 2 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Wii U, and Wii.
