It is reported that Walt Disney Pictures gives Andrew Stanton another shot by letting him helm the high-profile sequel despite the fact that his latest directorial stint suffered a big flop.

Though his latest directorial stint "John Carter" suffered a big flop on box office earlier this year, filmmaker Andrew Stanton is ready to get back into the business again with a new high-profile project. The Oscar winner has officially signed on to helm a sequel to Walt Disney Pictures' hit animation "Finding Nemo".
Deadline has learned that Disney is willing to give Stanton another chance by letting him return to the directing seat of the Finding Nemo sequel. Words are, the 46-year-old director has already had a concept that the studio loves. Pixar, which developed the first film, hasn't commented on the progress of the reported sequel.
Stanton won Oscars through his animation works in both 2003's "Finding Nemo" and 2008's "Wall-E". His other acclaimed works include the "Toy Story" film series, "A Bug's Life" and many more.
The original "Finding Nemo" had successfully grossed $867.9 million worldwide, making it Pixar's second-highest-grossing film and Disney's third-biggest animated film ever. The movie has also been re-released in 3D in September 2011. Details of the sequel, meanwhile, are still kept under very tight wraps.
