Movie

Kevin Durand, who plays Burton, is pictured sporting the character's trademark red vest, gun holsters and brown pants while holding a machine gun.

AceShowbiz - Another fan-favorite character in "Resident Evil: Retribution" has been unveiled in form of a fresh still. Released via Kinopoisk, the new official image offers a first look at Alice's ally Barry Burton, who is played by Canadian actor Kevin Durand.

Durand is pictured sporting Burton's trademark full beard. Rocking the character's signature red vest, gun holsters and brown pants, Durand is featured pointing his machine gun. The setting seems to take place in Russia since there's a sign written in Russian on the wall behind the actor.

For those who are unfamiliar with the "Resident Evil" franchise, Burton is described in the original game as a survivor who befriends Alice to hunt down villainous Umbrella. He is also Leon Kennedy's "partner in crime" and best friend.

In addition to Burton's first look, a set of new images from the movie have been made available for viewing pleasure. They include a new look at Milla Jovovich's Alice and Li Bingbing's Ada Wong, Boris Kodjoe's Luther West, as well as Michelle Rodriguez's Rain Ocampo.

In "Resident Evil: Retribution", the Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race's last and only hope, Alice, awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex.

Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion.

To open wide in the U.S. on September 14, "Resident Evil 5" is directed and written by Jovovich's husband Paul W.S. Anderson. The game-adapted movie will hold a Hall H panel at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con at 4:05-4:35 P.M. on Friday, July 13. Never-before-seen footage of the movie will be unveiled in addition to a Q&A session with the director and cast members.
