The first episode of the new chapter will pick up where the season 6 finale left off, with Debra pointing her gun to her adoptive brother.

The first look at "Dexter" season 7 has been shared in form of a photo. It offers a hint at Debra's reaction to seeing her brother Dexter executing last season's major villain Travis, featuring the female detective aiming her gun at the titular character.

"Viewers might think we shy away from that moment of Debra walking in and seeing Dexter stabbing into Travis' chest, but it's just the opposite," executive producer Scott Buck teases about the season opener. "She now has to deal with what she's seen and what she knows. And it forces him to defend and define himself."

Executive producer Manny Coto previously said the incest storyline will still be addressed on the show as dishing, "Her feelings will have to evolve given that revelation, but they will be taken into account." Confirming this, Buck insists, "We're not shying away from those feelings of hers, either."

Almost at the same time the "Dexter" picture was released, a new promo of "Homeland" season 2 also landed online. It still has no new footage, but points out that Carrie's "obsession hits home" in the upcoming season.

Both "Dexter" and "Homeland" are set to return will all-new episodes Sunday, September 30 on Showtime, with the veteran show leading at 9 P.M. ET/PT and the sophomore series following at 10 P.M. ET/PT. The network had debuted the first teaser for the Michael C. Hall-starring crime drama series back in May.
