Lindsay Lohan has ditched her blonde hair in preparation for the filming of Lifetime's "Liz & Dick". Channeling the late Elizabeth Taylor, the Kimmie Keegan of "Ugly Betty" sported darker locks and arranged it in an updo style when she was spotted during the pre-production of the biopic.

Taking a break during a photo shoot and a lighting test, the "Mean Girls" star smoked a cigarette. In the photo obtained by TMZ, the 25-year-old singer/actress donned a casual outfit which consisted of a long-sleeved black shirt and white mini-pants.

The production of the Liz Taylor biopic itself will kick off on Monday, June 4 in Los Angeles. Giving updates on the preparation, executive producer Larry Thompson told E! Online, "All her clothes are made. All her jewelry is made. Come Monday morning, Liz and Dick will live again."

Lohan and Grant Bowler, who is cast as Richard Burton, had their last rehearsal on Friday, June 1 with director Lloyd Kramer. "She is excited and so into it. She went from being unfocused to being totally focused now that the movie is up and going," Thompson gushed.

"Liz & Dick" chronicles the enduring love of movie icons Taylor and Burton, whose fiery romance was the most notorious, publicized and celebrated love affair of its day. Thompson previously hinted that the TV movie will feature a lot of steamy scenes as saying, "Chemistry means movie magic for sex. This movie will definitely have as much sex as Lifetime will allow."
