The vampire Barnabas of 'Dark Shadows' acknowledges his mistake as saying, 'Apparently instead of signing 'love,' I might've signed 'murder'.'

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp has broken his silence on the report that he made a wrong sign language when appearing in Paul McCartney's "My Valentine" music video. Admitting that he learned the language in a short period of time, he jokingly blamed his tutor for the error.

"I had to learn this sign language thing which is... all kind of different," the 48-year-old actor opened up to WENN. "Apparently instead of signing 'love,' I might've signed 'murder'. But I was only copying what the guy showed me so track him down!"

Depp was criticized by sign language experts for making a wrong gesture when signing the word "valentine." One expert pointed out the flaw, "His middle finger should have been reversed, so it looks like he's giving the middle finger."

Depp appeared in the video with Natalie Portman. Of how he ended up in Mecca's clip, he said, "I've known him on and off through the years and ran into him. Then he gave me a call and asked me if I would be interested in being in his video. (I said), 'Certainly, let's do it.' It was a gas (a lot of fun)."
