FOX and Karen Usher's team are reportedly very close to signing the two stars to lead a new drama involving CIA and a teen.

There's a big chance that former "Nip/Tuck" star Julian McMahon and ex "Alias" actress Angela Bassett would be paired in a new pilot for FOX. The two television stars are "in final negotiations" to star in the untitled teen spy drama from Karyn Usher of "Bones".

The project is a CIA-themed drama which puts McMahon as a rogue CIA agent named Kevin Lear who becomes a surrogate father to an orphaned 14-year-old girl named Jane Forsythe, played by newcomer Saxon Sharbino. Their encounter leads to him being her professional mentor in the spy world as well. Meanwhile, Bassett is to take the role of CIA Director Alice Vargas.

For McMahon, this would be his first TV project since his seven years stint as plastic surgeon on "Nip/Tuck". Basset has just completed her Broadway run in "The Mountaintop". Usher will serve as executive producer of the spy series alongside Brett Ratner, Marty Adelstein, Shawn Levy and Becky Clements.
