The former girlfriend of Jim Carrey signs up to serve as the host of the dating show's second season, and will launch 'The Jenny McCarthy Show' in late summer or fall.

AceShowbiz - Jenny McCarthy has just landed, not one, but two hosting gigs. Not long after VH1 announced that it's developing a talk show for her, it's reported that NBC has tapped her to host the upcoming second installment of reality show "Love in the Wild".

Filming for the sophomore season of the dating show will begin later this month in the Dominican Republic. The reality series, which sees men and women going through nature-based challenges in a quest to find love, will return with all-new episodes this summer.

The "Love in the Wild" hosting gig marks a return to the dating show format for McCarthy, who previously co-hosted MTV's "Singled Out". Joking about her being chosen as the host, the former Playboy model said, "Everyone knows I've looked just about everywhere except the jungle for love. I wanted to apply as a contestant and ended up with a job."

As for her talk show on VH1, it's called "The Jenny McCarthy Show" and will "celebrate as well as skewer everyone and everything in pop culture, news, fashion, TV, movies and the web." Currently in early development stages, it is scheduled to premiere in summer or fall this year.

"We wanted to get back in the game and create a signature show that really hit that female funny sweet spot," says VH1's EVP of original programming and production Jeff Olde, "and Jenny was always on the top of our list because our audience grew up with Jenny."
